Winner! Hudson Bay Odyssey Trip for Two. Tammy Kokjohn.

We have a winner! Congratulations to Tammy Kokjohn!

Tammy was selected as the winner of a Hudson Bay Odyssey Trip For Two to Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge, from thousands of entries in Churchill Wild’s 30th Anniversary Trip Giveaway.

The 64-year-old wildlife photographer and birding guide from San Diego was very excited to hear about her big win, and says here six grandchildren are the main reason she started out in photography — she wanted something to be able to share with them as they grew up.

Polar bears are one of Tammy’s favourite animals, and she had been to Churchill in the past with NatHab, but always had Churchill Wild on her bucket list and was saving up for a trip with us. Not anymore!

Tammy will be joining us along with her husband of 47 years, for the Hudson Bay Odyssey departure that runs from September 1-7, 2023, at Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge.

The approximate retail value of Tammy’s trip is $26,590 CDN, and includes:

  • Two nights at Winnipeg’s The Grand hotel (pre and post tour)
  • Four nights at Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge
  • Roundtrip airfare between Winnipeg, Churchill and the Lodge
  • Ground transfers in Churchill
  • Excursions and guide services while at the Lodge
  • Meals at the Lodge featuring Arctic cuisine and select Canadian wines

And of course a chance to walk with polar bears on the Hudson Bay coast while staying at one of National Geographic’s original Unique Lodges of the World, Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge, where she might also see and photograph black bears, wolves, moose, Arctic fox, Arctic hare and more.

Tammy’s Instagram profile @tammykokjohn says that she loves sharing her “passion for photography to help all children have a better love of the natural world we live in.”

The Hudson Bay Odyssey should certainly help her with that!

A big thank you to everyone who entered the contest! Stay tuned for more contests in the future.
