Churchill Wild was honoured with the Large Business of the Year Award 2025 presented by Travel Manitoba and Winnipeg Economic Development & Tourism. The event took place on Thursday, April 23rd at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg.
The award celebrates a tourism business, facility, event or attraction with 20 or more employees that provides exceptional visitor experiences that result in high levels of customer satisfaction through the experiences or services provided.
Churchill Wild co-founders and owners Mike and Jeanne Reimer were honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Canadian Tourism Awards on December 5, 2024, at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre in BC.
Presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC), the Canadian Tourism Awards recognize the best and brightest in Canada’s tourism industry. Churchill Wild was a finalist in the categories of Transformational Travel and Contribution to Experiential Travel at the prestigious 2017 PURE Life Experiences Awards, and Churchill Wild co-founder Mike Reimer was the winner of the Award for Contribution to Experiential Travel.

Home to our Great Ice Bear Adventure, Dymond Lake Ecolodge received the 2017 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor after garnering 51/51 5-Star reviews. Since that time, Dymond Lake Ecolodge has earned an additional 19 5-Star Reviews to bring our total to 70. The Great Ice Bear Adventure takes place in October and November as the polar bears begin their trek back out onto the sea ice for the winter. Dymond Lake Ecolodge has been continually upgraded over the years and we are very thankful to our guests for voicing their appreciation of both the lodge and the polar bears they’ve been able to meet there!
Churchill Wild was presented with the 2017 Transat Sustainable Tourism Award, which honours an organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the practice and promotion of sustainable tourism in Canada. The Transat Sustainable Tourism Award recognizes a business which protects and preserves natural and cultural heritage resources; fosters appreciation and enjoyment of natural and cultural heritage resources; raises awareness among visitors and influences them to enjoy resources sustainably; mitigates negative impacts of tourism on the natural and cultural environment; and respects, involves and engages other stakeholders and host communities.
Churchill Wild received the Adventure/Outdoors Award at the 2016 Canadian Tourism Awards. Presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC), this award recognizes an organization that provides outstanding outdoor adventure tourism experiences; promotes visitor participation and personal challenge; provides outdoor experiences that showcase and promote regional tourism; contributes to, or enhances the Canadian tourism industry; shows a strong commitment to visitor/participant satisfaction and product development; and which fosters an appreciation and enjoyment of Canada’s great outdoors.
Churchill Wild received the 2016 Winnipeg Airports Authority Award of Distinction at the 18th Annual Travel Manitoba Tourism Awards. The Manitoba Tourism Awards recognize excellence in the promotion and delivery of quality tourism experiences and services in Manitoba. The Award of Distinction recognizes a business or organization that reflects exceptional leadership in Manitoba’s tourism industry and helps Manitoba realize distinction as a high quality tourism destination.
Churchill Wild received the 2015 Sustainable Tourism Award for providing customized adventures in the Arctic ecosystem without disturbing its inhabitants, and for promoting conservation of native wildlife and vegetation, while also creating social and economic benefits for local communities. Churchill Wild was also a finalist for the 2015 Award of Distinction at the Manitoba Tourism Awards.
Churchill Wild co-founders and owners Mike and Jeanne Reimer, who pioneered the world’s first and only polar bear walking safaris over 20 years ago, were elected to the prestigious Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s (RCGS) College of Fellows in 2015. The husband and wife team from Manitoba, Canada were officially recognized as Fellows at the College of Fellows Annual Dinner, which took place on November 18, 2015 at the Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa.
