The polar bears are at it again at Seal River Heritage Lodge and so are the families! With the first trip of the 25th Anniversary season wrapping up, we’ve already seen some amazing sights. The beluga whales are out in force around Seal River and the polar bears are waiting for them.

It didn’t take long for our guests to find bears perched up on rocks waiting for an unsuspecting beluga to swim by. We saw one bear sleeping on a rock taking a well-deserved break as we floated by, but it was one of those days where you didn’t know where to look. As we drove past the sleeping bear, a second, third and then a fourth bear were spotted!

This bashful bear wandered up into the fireweed at Seal River Heritage Lodge on the final evening of the first Birds, Bears and Belugas safari of 2018.

Our first group of the season included a number of families and the kids were enthusiastic in helping to spot and scan for polar bears. On our final evening of the trip, the bashful bear above wandered up into the freshly flowering fireweed, wrapping up the trip with yet another magnificent experience for the guests.
