Vanessa Desorcy, Marketing Manager

Marketing Manager Vanessa Desorcy landed a dream career straight out of the University of Manitoba when she joined Churchill Wild in 2010 as a sales and marketing assistant. The concept of ethically walking with polar bears captured this animal-lover’s heart.

Doing marketing for an eco-tourism company also appealed to her passion for sustainability, the outdoors and travel. The job was an excellent fit, and by 2017 she was promoted to marketing manager.

When she’s not sharing the story of Churchill Wild with media at international conferences, escorting them on trips to the company’s lodges and monitoring the resulting coverage, Vanessa oversees the curation and creation of the website’s blog content, runs an annual guest photo contest, and comes up with new initiatives to share and enhance the Churchill Wild brand and experience.

In her spare time Vanessa enjoys hiking and volunteering at Kismet Creek Farm, a sanctuary for farm animals, or at the Winnipeg Humane Society, as part of the dog behaviour team.

Her love for animals and love for the planet in general, drives her deep-seated commitment to the Churchill Wild culture and mission.
