Churchill Wild reached a new milestone on Tripadvisor in 2024, garnering its 500th 5-Star review for polar bear safaris and wildlife walking tours at Seal River Heritage Lodge, Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge, Dymond Lake Ecolodge, and their new Blueberry Inn in Churchill.

Seal River Heritage Lodge received 15 5-Star reviews in 2024 to bring its total to 218, Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge was honoured with 17 5-Star reviews for a total of 180, Dymond Lake Ecolodge received four new 5-Star reviews to bring its total to 98, and our newly opened Blueberry Inn was the icing on the cake with four 5-Star reviews to help us hit the 500 mark!

Churchill Wild also received numerous 5-Star Google reviews for all three of our polar bear lodges in 2024. We’ve included a few example reviews below, edited slightly for clarity if required, along with links to all the reviews for each of our ecolodges on both Tripadvisor and Google.

We couldn’t have done this without so many fabulous guests, many who have returned to our ecolodges on multiple occasions to walk with polar bears, and we greatly appreciate your kind words and friendship!

Thank You!

Trip of a lifetime

When I went on tour with Churchill Wild, my main goal was to see a polar bear. Even though Hudson Bay is famous for its polar bear sightings, I did not want to get my hopes up too high. After all, it is nature. But from the minute I boarded the little plane in Churchill to fly out to Seal River Heritage Lodge my expectations were more than exceeded. Already on the 40-minute plane ride, I spotted at least three polar bears.

When we arrived at Seal River Heritage Lodge, we had to wait a few minutes to enter the Lodge since a giant polar bear was taking a nap right next to the fence surrounding the property. In the following days we had numerous close encounters with these amazing animals. Never once did I feel like I was in danger. And never once did I feel like we were unwanted intruders. The few days I was able to spend in polar bear territory were truly unforgettable.

Nature spoiled us at Seal River Heritage Lodge: While we were walking with polar bears by day, we were lucky to marvel at the dancing colors of the northern lights by night. On one day, we saw hundreds of belugas on Hudson Bay. And the little excursion to the remote wilderness of the Barren Lands, where we slept in tents under the stars, did make you feel humbled in the face of nature’s wonders.

The cherry on top was the heart-warming, friendly, and highly professional service every guest received during our Arctic Safari. It felt like staying at a relative’s extraordinary country house. I cannot rave enough about the whole staff – from the lovely lodge managers Nicole and Ben to the creative kitchen crew, to the fantastic bear guides. Thank you guys, you are all exceptional people! To finally come to an end: The Arctic Safari with Churchill Wild was a trip of a lifetime I can sincerely recommend.

Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge Tripadvisor Review

Absolutely Enchanting, just go!

I would not call this a vacation. It was an experience I will never forget. The staff from the lodge managers to the chefs to the hospitality staff were wonderful. Five stars. They accommodated my diet wonderfully.

I always felt safe while out walking with the polar bears with the well trained guides. I learned so much about the Arctic and wildlife here I had to make a list. Every evening was a presentation and each outing was very informative. The weather can change very quickly, most outings here were on the ATVs, so it is easy to bring anything you think you might need for comfort. Everyday we saw polar bears and black bears as well. We saw a pack of wolves wandering around the lodge twice. Northern lights were amazing two nights while we were at this lodge. This is a remote lodge in a VAST area of wild land. Yes, it is pricey but after being here and understanding what is put into getting supplies out here I feel like it was a bargain. If you are on the fence about booking do yourself a favor and go.

Great experience at Blueberry Inn!

The Blueberry Inn is located in the heart of town with easy access to everything you want. The rooms are lovely and spacious. The beds fantastic. Breakfast is amazing with locally baked bread and daily muffins from a local cookbook! And the staff was super hospitable. I highly recommend it.

Seal River Heritage Lodge Google Review

What an extraordinary location! Seal River Heritage Lodge is located right on the Hudson Bay with incredible views of the Bay. Not to mention the amount of wildlife – polar bears, beluga whales, sik-siks, caribou, and THE BIRDS! So many fantastic memories of a week spent in this remote luxury lodge. The food was delicious and wonderful variety. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. They made me feel so welcome. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxury wildlife experience. And thanks to the company Churchill Wild who run this lodge as well as a few others. 5-Stars all around.

Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge Google Review

Polar bear bonanza! What an amazing expedition to Churchill Wild Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge! From the initial contact with the team in Winnipeg to arrange our tour accommodations, to the remarkable staff at each stop, the team knows how to deliver a truly exceptional customer experience.

From the time we landed at Nanuk, you were embraced by the entire team. They quickly knew your name and were eager to accommodate any requests. As we sat down to have lunch, within an hour of landing, we had remarkable views of our first polar bear watching the new comers  (I still think it was Danny dressed in a bear suit!). The bear gave us tremendous views, and as an avid photographer, my shutter was burning!

That was only the beginning, as we met our fantastic guides Emri, Michael and Karla. Safety was their first priority and they then put us on over 20 polar bears during our stay. On one occasion, we got very close to one curious, teenage bear. What an exhilarating experience!

The guides were very personable and knowledgeable about their surroundings. It was a joy to listen to their passion about the territory. In addition, we saw a wolverine, moose, fox, owls and other boreal birds. A target rich environment for those that aspire to photograph wildlife as well as those with a cell phone to record memories.

We were pleasantly surprised that a very remote lodge could be so luxurious. The lodge was well appointed and warm, bedrooms had very comfortable beds and bathroom facilities and the entire Arctic safari was well planned from the provided apparel to the Rhinos!

Carl and staff provided amazing meals as well! From breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner, the team created tasty and very creative choices. I also took full advantage of the cookie jar!

I am in the travel business and we have had the opportunity to explore the world for both business and pleasure. While you go to the Arctic for the amazing wildlife, memories are also created with the people you meet. On this trip I even had the opportunity to meet and converse with the owner, Mike Reimer, who was filming the week we were at Nanuk.

I often find successful owners instill the passion for the business with their employees. I can see Mike doing just that. Emma, Danny, the guides and the entire staff at Nanuk more than delivered on creating memories for us on this adventure.

I highly recommend the Churchill Wild experience and Nanuk Lodge! We look forward to returning during the summer to witness more bears/cubs, Beluga whales and more! Thank you, Scott and Laura, Wisconsin USA
