Every winter we await with much anticipation the return of gyrfalcons and snowy owls to our wild coast. Andy Skillen, back for his second Polar Bear Photo Safari at Seal River Lodge with his wife Carrie, captured the fabulous shot below of an angry gang of hoary redpolls driving a dark phase gyrfalcon out of their turf.

Nice going Andy! It obviously pays to take your eyes off the polar bears once in a while to see what else is going on around you, but we would never want to miss…

And the sunrises and sunsets at Churchill Wild’s Arctic Safaris on the Hudson Bay coast rival anything you’ll see on an African Safari, albeit in a slightly chillier setting! Andy captured the sunset below after another wonderful day of hiking with polar bears at Seal River.

Thank you Andy! You are now entitled to some…
