Is the polar bear walking/beluga whale swimming season really over, ALREADY?! You mean we don’t have to send a weather report in the morning? Or check the gates/electric fences before bed, stoke the fires, pump/haul water, unload an airplane and chase a bear from the window, while at the same time preparing a (delicious) meal? Maybe we’ll do that anyway. The holiday season demands it!

You know…

Seems like just yesterday plans were being made for various projects, aligning of logistical needs, finalizing bookings, hiring of staff… and in the blink of an eye, another year is behind us.

It has been, without a doubt, one of our best seasons ever, thanks to our valued guests, and our lodge staff, who continue to go above and beyond when it counts.

There are so many stories of adventures and projects, successes and hiccups that it’s difficult to encapsulate the year with any one overlying description. To recount them all would undoubtedly have most of you snoozing before we could get halfway through them!

They say — whoever “they” are — that you don’t have to know how to do everything well, you just have to surround yourself with people who do, and judging from our guest responses, Churchill Wild has done just that. We have been blessed with an amazingly talented staff, and their hard work and dedication once again resulted in glowing guest reviews — which we love to read and truly appreciate!

We’re also fortunate to have a rock solid mission control center in place at our new office. Moving into the much needed larger space was a real treat, but it’s the people in it, our team on the ground so to speak, that is the real backbone of our operational success. The amount of planning and marketing (i.e. paper work) that goes on behind the scenes before a guest actually gets to the lodges is mind boggling. Thank goodness we have the amazing support system that can make it all happen!

It is obvious that without the dedication of all our seasonal and year-round employees we would absolutely not be able to achieve the success that we do.

And thank you to YOU, our lovely guests, who always leave us with new friendships to cherish and new stories to share. You make all the blood, sweat and tears worthwhile, and we look forward with great anticipation to more exciting adventures with you in 2015.

Happy New Year and Happy Travels!
On behalf of the Churchill Wild family,
Mike & Jeanne Reimer
