My wife, Lucy, and I have been on many adventures throughout our 48 years of marriage. We’ve visited more than 100 countries and have a keen interest in wildlife. Photography has been my life-long hobby and many of our adventures are to view and photograph animals in the wild.
Our trips have included African safaris, trekking with gorillas, visiting wild parts of South America, the Galapagos and Antarctica.
But nothing surpasses walking with polar bears.
On this particular day my legs had tired so I stayed back at the lodge and relaxed on one of the viewing platforms while Lucy (second from right in brown) and the rest of the group trekked down towards the Bay to view these two male bears.
When I saw the group framed by the bears sparring in front of them I thought, ‘that will be a great shot.’
I’m thrilled that this photo has been seen by so many people around the world, and perhaps, has even encouraged a few to visit Seal River Heritage Lodge and have a similarly amazing experience.
Bill graciously allowed us to use his photo in order to share the Churchill Wild experience with wildlife enthusiasts from around the world.
